The story
BRIKK started in a Manila flat with a bag of studs, a leather liner and a question: what if the upper was not stitched, but snapped?

01
The first HI 01 was glued, not snapped, and fell apart on a jeepney. The second was snapped onto a leather liner and lasted a year. That is the pair in the hero image, re-shot every season because it still fits.

02
Our studs are our own geometry: taller than a toy brick, with a hidden lip that locks into the liner. They are moulded in a small plastics plant outside Porto that also makes parts for bicycle lights.

03
Every pair is built by a team of six in a converted print shop in Makati. Fourteen days from liner to box, including two days of walking tests. The tests are the fun part.
Founder
Designer, developer and the person who walks every test pair. Jed built the first HI 01 for himself, then for friends, then for the queue outside the print shop. He still answers the studio chat between 10:00 and 19:00.
